Baltimore Kingfishers

Welcome to the homepage of the 2005 USCL Champions, the Baltimore Kingfishers, who will be playing their matches at the University of Maryland Baltimore County

Despite a magical run which won the Kingfishers the inaugural USCL Championship, Baltimore had to unquestionably be known as one of the hard luck teams in the USCL after 2008, failing to reach the Postseason in three consecutive years, despite having a very solid roster every season.

But in 2009, Baltimore managed to partially put those demons to rest, finally reaching the Playoffs once again.  The continued strong play by 2008 All Star GM Sergey Erenburg was one great key to this, but unlike 2008 he had some solid support with both IM Tegshsuren Enkhbat and FM Shinsaku Uesugi turning in very solid seasons, along with FM Ralph Zimmer winning a couple of very critical games at season's end to send Baltimore to the Playoffs.

While 2009 did not manage to have quite the magic that 2005 held, with the Kingfishers falling to the powerful New Jersey Knockouts in a tough Quarterfinals match, the return to Postseason play had to make their team very happy, and like many other teams, Baltimore will without a doubt be looking to build upon this year's strong performance to achieve even greater heights in 2010.
