Although the Boston Blitz fell a bit short in 2007, losing in a dramatic tiebreak to Dallas in the USCL Final, they had to be happy with their play throughout the season. They had an incredible four All Stars, as their regular players on Boards one through four all qualified for the All Star team. The biggest star was Jorge Sammour Hasbun, who had an amazing record of 6.5/7, and a performance rating of above 2800 on Board 2. Click here to read more about it.

Also 2007 marked the inception of www.boston-blitz.com, a fantastic new website with previews, match summaries and even video interviews. Click here to see the Boston Blitz celebration after winning the Eastern Finals.

GM Larry Christiansen had another fantastic season, as he finished with an undefeated +2 record. Perhaps even more crucial to Boston's success were Boards 3+4, Denys Shmelov and Chris Williams. Both of these young players have much higher ratings for 2008 so it will be interesting to see what role the Blitz will find for these two All Stars with their ratings over 100 points higher than their 2007 league ratings.
