One spot left in the US Chess League

The United States Chess League now has seven official members, with two new cities (Miami + Boston) to be placed on the official website shortly. There is a lot of interest for the league's final spot, and so the USCL is going to try to make this process as fair as possible. If you are interested in being the 8th and final franchise in the inaugural season of the USCL, you need to complete the following steps no later than April 26th 2005.

1. Send an email to admin@uschessleague.com with your name, and the city you are representing.
2. Include the site/location where your team would gather for the league matches
3. List at least 4 players who have committed to being part of the team. (The rest of the roster can be completed later, although feel free to do so now). The strength of your players may have some impact on the USCL's choice, although the overall enthusiasm of the home city, chess club and manager can easily make up for a "weaker" lineup.
4. If you'd like, give any reasons why you think your team would be the best choice for the USCL. There are a lot of worthy candidates, so this could make a difference.
5. Don't forget your submission must be on April 26th before 11:59 pm EST, or else it won't be considered.
6. The 8th official USCL team will be announced on exactly April 30th.

The USCL thanks all those who have thus far shown interest in the league. Don't forget that most of all we want enthusiasm and commitment from your team. We are looking for teams that are going to be permanent league members. If we suspect that one team is more likely to remain a league member at least 5-10 years in the future, we will choose that team ahead of one where the commitment level doesn't seem as strong. Please don't forget that if the league is successful in it's first year, we plan to expand and add more teams the following year, so if things don't work out this time around, new teams will likely be considered for 2006, especially those that show interest this year.
