Below are the Week 4 scores of our result guessing battle.

Ron (13)
Arun (9)
Miami vs Baltimore
TIE 2-2
TIE 2-2
Seattle vs Tennessee
Sea 2.5-1.5
Seattle 3-1
Dallas vs San Francisco
Dal 2.5-1.5
TIE 2-2
Boston vs Philadelphia
Bos 2.5-1.5
Bos 2.5-1.5
Carolina vs New York
NY 2.5-1.5
NY 3-1

When our prognosticators picked the correct team, I have made it blue, and if they also picked the correct score, I have made it red in the chart above.

This week Ron scored 8 points while Arun scored 10 points, closing Ron's lead to just 2 points.

Ron Young: 13+8 = 21
Arun Sharma: 9+10 = 19

Carolina Cobras

Boston Blitz
IM Lev Milman - 2523

GM Larry Christiansen - 2633
FM Matthew Hoekstra - 2401

GM Eugene Perelshteyn - 2614
NM Craig Jones - 2280

NM Vadim Martirosov - 2259
NM John Kirby - 2222

NM Ilya Krasik - 2162

I assume that Lev Milman, Duke student, is familiar
with the following famous words of George
Borrow—“youth will be served”. What he may not know,
though, is this—it’s a cookbook! Boston, 2.5-1.5

Philadelphia Masterminds

Baltimore Kingfishers
FM Bryan Smith - 2442

IM Larry Kaufman - 2359
IM Richard Costigan - 2287

NM Ray Kaufman - 2288
FM Norman Rogers - 2270

NM John Rouleau - 2281
NM Elvin Wilson - 2240

Philadelphia Total -------

------- Baltimore Total

The champs are off to a rocky start and Manager
Battsetseg is cracking the whip, showing that even a
GM cannot count on his place in the lineup. Will
putting the blame on Blehm lift the rest of the squad
to show what they can do without him? Meanwhile, how
will Philadelphia respond to being the higher-rated
side for the first time? I think both sides’
uncertainty will balance out and expect a 2-2 tie.

Dallas Destiny

Miami Sharks
IM Jacek Stopa - 2512

GM Julio Becerra - 2624
IM Davorin Kuljasevic - 2423

IM Alejandro Moreno Roman - 2437
FM Igor Shneider - 2387

FM Marcel Martinez - 2415
NM Keaton Kiewra - 2239

Luis Barredo - 2160
Avg Rating - 2390

Dallas Total -------

------- Miami Total

Both teams are struggling to stay in contention, and
they look pretty close. The mysterious pictureless guy
on board four won last week’s match for Miami, and I
think that might play on Kiewra’s nerves. I’ll pick
the Sharks, 2.5-1.5.

San Francisco Mechanics

Tennessee Tempo
IM Josh Friedel - 2513

IM Ron Burnett - 2449
IM Vince McCambridge - 2502

FM Peter Bereolos - 2319
IM David Pruess - 2459

NM Jerry Wheeler - 2200
Daniel Naroditsky - 2055

Gerald Larson - 2130
Avg Rating - 2382

Avg Rating - 2275
San Francisco Total -------

------- Tennessee Total

I had begun to think that the other four players from
Tennessee’s team picture were actually cardboard
cutouts designed to fool the league commissioner. In
fact, I still expect a last-second “emergency” lineup
change, but I will play along for now. The Mechanics’
grip is powerful and Tennessee’s late swoon last week
looked hard to get over. San Francisco, 3-1.
