2007 USCL Schedule Released --------------------------------------------
by League Commissioner IM Greg Shahade
--------------------------------------------
The Schedule for the 2007 USCL Season has been released. Each
team will play 8 matches within their division and 2 matches from teams
in the opposite division. A formula was used to create the schedule,
resulting in teams that fared well in the previous year playing more
matches against other teams that fared well. The seeding for the two
expansion teams was determined by random drawing. Below are some
highlights:
Week 1 - The two new expansion teams, New Jersey and Queens, will be
opening the season on Monday August 27th
Week 3 - The finalists from last Season, San Francisco and New York,
will be facing off on Monday September 10th.
Week 4 - Last year's rivalry between San Francisco and Seattle
continues on Wednesday September 19th.
Week 6 - Week 6 is InterDivision week, in which all six matches will be
East versus West. The feature matchup on Monday October 1st is between
the 2006 Regular Season Division Champions, Boston and San Francisco.
Week 8 - The "Subway Match" between Queens and New York takes place.
The schedule has them playing just once during the regular season.
Week 10 - All 12 teams play on October 31st in what should be a
thrilling conclusion to the Regular Season. The playoffs start
immediately the following week, with 6 of the 12 teams qualifying.
