The San Francisco
Mechanics Fill their remaining 5 roster spots -
The
Mechanics have submitted their roster for the inaugural season of the
United States Chess Leauge. They entered the league with three strong
senior masters in IM John Donaldson, FM Dmitry Zilberstein and FM David
Pruess. They have filled the remainder of their roster with two IM's
and three masters. 44 year old IM Vince McCambridge (2502) and 20 year
old IM Vinay Bhat (2462) have joined the team. With a five headed
monster of 2430+ players for the top 3 boards, San Francisco should be
a force to reckon with. Rounding out the team are three masters, 23
year old Andy Lee (2230), 46 year old Mark Pinto (2200) and the young
talent Nicholas Yap (2209), who is just 15 years old.
Playing a lineup of IM
McCambridge, IM Bhat, FM Zilberstein and NM Pinto, would put the team
average for that match at 2399.75! This is the highest allowable team
average given the limit of 2400. The toughest decisions for San
Francisco will be which players to play each week, as the level of
strength amongst their top 5 rated players is very similar. These
players are all good friends and this commeraderie should make San
Francisco one of the favorites to be USCL League Champion.
