Ok, I don’t understand Queens “Pioneers”. They’re the
new kids on the block, aren’t they? “Parvenus” would
be more appropriate. “Queens Indians” seems very hard
to resist but I suppose they remember the St. John’s
“Redmen” and the storm that erupted over that name. My
only guess is that it’s a reference to the Pioneers
Palaces...but weren’t they “Palaces of YOUNG
Pioneers”? Hmm, well on second thought...you all seem
pretty young to me. 

   New Jersey Knockouts...where is the relevance to
chess, or New Jersey? Isn’t New Jersey the father of
USCF presidents? To ignore such a proud history for
the sake of alliteration, well, that’s just misplaced
priorities.

   As far as the match goes...Queens is using an older
rating list, which is a good sign, as it indicates
that their ratings are higher on the more recent
lists. But New Jersey one-ups them by using an older
rule book (watch Benjamin castle his rook all the way
to e1! Hope you hadn’t planned the Open Ruy, Alex).
