IM-elect Daniel Fernandez joins the Dallas Destiny

The Dallas Destiny were in need of a roster change, as it turns
out that the Zimbabwean IM, Amon Simutowe, will be off to Africa
shortly to compete in the African Chess Championships. Due to this
conflict, Amon will not be available for the final weeks/playoffs and
the Destiny have found a more than capable replacement in Daniel Fernandez. Fernandez has just
received all the required norms for his IM title and should be
receiving it in the next FIDE Congress. He is the 2005 US Junior
Champion and will be invited to represent the United States in the
World Junior Championships.
Daniel hopes to help the Dallas Destiny make their final playoff
push in these last four weeks of the regular season. He is immediately
taking part in the match against division leader, the Miami Sharks, and
hopes to make his presence felt immediately.
