The smart money out west didn’t have change for the
telephone this week so we’ll have to manage on our
own.

New York is quite a big favorite but if I were
doing shtick I would nonetheless make them my “huge
favorite of the week”. I am not and will not, but I do
like them to win 3-1. There are some pretty big odds
published on the individual games, but I like the
heavy favorites Bonin and Krush, so put five hoffmanns
on those two. Martinez is quite a dangerous huge dog,
so put ten dozoretses on him.

This match is right on the edge of 2-2 and 2.5-1.5, so
flip a coin but call “tails” on behalf of the tie (as
heads is slightly heavier on most coins so will
usually touch the ground). Milman is a surprising
near-pick’em as Black on board one. I suspect a lot of
his support comes from Duke freshmen who are too young
to go to bars. Put five boudreaux on Enkhbat. I
haven’t been keeping up with Jones but he seems to be
getting nice odds. I’d recommend a bet but I don’t
know anything about the local currency in NC.

These were the teams that played to a tie in the Hall
of Fame-Kickoff Classic thing but there are no
individual rematches here (Commissionier Note -
Costigan and Donaldson are playing for the 2nd
time). I see SF as a likely 2.5-1.5 winner. Nothing
screams “bet me” but if any compulsive bettors
out there feel themselves going stir crazy,
just put one thornally on Pruess to end
Wilson’s streak.

GM Alejandro Ramirez - 2565
IM Josh Friedel - 2477

I don’t even hear a whisper here. The compulsives
might put half a curdo on Boston, but I predict it
leads to nothing but some tired electrons.
