New York Knights

Welcome to the website of the New York Knights!. The New York Knights play their matches at the Marshall Chess Club in New York City, right in the heart of Greenwich Village.

The New York Knights have set the bar high for other teams to measure up to as they come bearing the first triple GM roster in league history. Boasting 2007 US Champion GM Alex Shabalov, 2005 USCL MVP GM Pascal Charbonneau and legendary New York GM John Fedorowicz, the Knights hope to give their arch rivals, the Boston Blitz, a difficult time in 2008. The Knights slayed the Blitz in the 2006 SemiFinal but the Blitz got their revenge by eliminating the Knights in 2007. It should be exciting to see how this rivalry develops in 2008.

The middle of their roster also serves to provide strong support with the always solid IM Irina Krush, the returning 2005 All Star SM Gregory Braylovsky, and 2007 All Star IM Jay Bonin. With this strong cast along with the underrated NM Matt Herman and 2007 All Star WFM Iryna Zenyuk to hold down fourth board, this could well be the year where the always playoff bound Knights overcome their post-season demons to capture their first USCL Championship.
2007 Team Members GM Hikaru Nakamura (not on the 2008 roster), IM Jay Bonin, IM Irina Krush, WFM Iryna Zenyuk
